Prof. (Dr.) Vincenzo Piuri
Vincenzo Piuri has received his Ph.D. in computer
engineering at Polytechnic of Milan, Italy (1989).
He is Full Professor in computer engineering at
the University of Milan, Italy (since 2000). He
has been Associate Professor at Polytechnic of
Milan, Italy and Visiting Professor at the
University of Texas at Austin, USA, and visiting
researcher at George Mason University, USA. His
main research interests are: artificial
intelligence, computational intelligence, machine
learning, pattern analysis and recognition,
intelligent systems, signal and image processing,
biometrics, intelligent measurement systems,
industrial applications, digital processing
architectures, fault tolerance, cloud computing
infrastructures, and internet-of-things. Original
results have been published in 400+ papers in
international journals, proceedings of
international conferences, books, and book
chapters. He is Fellow of the IEEE, Distinguished
Scientist of ACM, and Senior Member of INNS. He is
IEEE Region 8 Past Director (2025-26), and has
been IEEE Region 8 Director (2023-24), IEEE Vice
President for Technical Activities (2015), IEEE
Director, President of the IEEE Systems Council,
President of the IEEE Computational Intelligence
Society, Vice President for Education of the IEEE
Biometrics Council, Vice President for
Publications of the IEEE Instrumentation and
Measurement Society and the IEEE Systems Council,
and Vice President for Membership of the IEEE
Computational Intelligence Society. He has been
Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Systems Journal
(2013-19). He is Associate Editor of IEEE Open
Journal on Systems Engineering and has been
Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on
Computers, the IEEE Transactions on Cloud
Computing, the IEEE Transactions on Neural
Networks, the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation
and Measurement, and IEEE Access. He received the
IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society
Technical Award (2002), the IEEE TAB Hall of Honor
(2019), and the Rudolf Kalman Professor Title of
the Obuda University, Hungary. He is Honorary
Professor at: Obuda University, Hungary; Guangdong
University of Petrochemical Technology, China;
Northeastern University, China; Muroran Institute
of Technology, Japan; Amity University, India;

Prof. (Dr.) Celestine Iwendi
SMIEEE, FHEA, FIMC
Professor Celestine Iwendi is an IEEE Brand
Ambassador, Professor of Artificial Intelligence
and the Head of the Centre of Intelligence of
Things (CIoTh) at the University of Bolton. With a
PhD in Electronics Engineering, he has over 25
years of technical expertise in wireless sensor
networks, AI, ML, and IoT. As a Senior Member of
IEEE and Chartered Engineer, Celestine has
developed testing procedures, provided technical
support, and ensured safety compliance for
electronic systems. He has received prestigious
recognition from the Royal Academy of Engineering
under the Exceptional Talent Scheme for his
contributions to AI and medical applications, and
has been featured in Elsevier's World's Top 2%
Influential Scientists list for four consecutive
years.
His research spans 13 of the 17 UN SDGs, with
92.6% of his work internationally co-authored, and
60.7% of his publications ranking among the top
25% most-cited globally. He is also a Visiting
Professor at five universities worldwide.
Celestine is the Chair of the Election Committee
of IEEE Computer Society Worldwide 2024. He is the
IEEE University of Bolton Student Branch
Counsellor and a former Board Member of IEEE
Sweden Section, a Fellow of The Higher Education
Academy in the United Kingdom, and a Fellow of the
Institute of Management Consultants. Additionally,
Celestine is an Ambassador in the prestigious
Manchester Conference Ambassador Programme.

Prof. (Dr.) Swagatam Das
Professor Swagatam Das earned his B.E. in
Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering,
M.E. with a specialization in Control Engineering,
and Ph.D.(Engineering) degrees from Jadavpur
University, India, in the years 2003, 2005, and
2009, respectively. He is currently a professor at
the Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit
(ECSU) of the Indian Statistical Institute,
Kolkata, India. He is also serving as the
Professor-in-Charge of the Computer and
Communication Sciences Division (CCSD) of his
Institute for the term 2024 - 26. He previously
held the position of Professor and Deputy Director
at the Institute for Advancing Intelligence (IAI),
TCG CREST, Kolkata, India, from April 01, 2023, to
March 31, 2024. His research interests encompass
deep learning and non-convex optimization, and he
has published over 400 research articles in
peer-reviewed journals and international
conferences. Dr. Das is the founding
Co-Editor-in-Chief of Swarm and Evolutionary
Computation, an international journal by Elsevier.
He has served or is currently serving as an
Associate Editor for several prominent journals,
including the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks
and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on
Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary
Computation, Pattern Recognition (Elsevier),
Neurocomputing (Elsevier), Information Sciences
(Elsevier), IEEE Trans. on Systems, Man, and
Cybernetics: Systems, among others. He is a member
of the editorial board of Information Fusion
(Elsevier), Progress in Artificial Intelligence
(Springer), Applied Soft Computing (Elsevier),
Engineering Applications of Artificial
Intelligence (Elsevier), and so on. Dr. Das has
received over 33,000 Google Scholar citations and
an H-index of 87 to date. He has actively
participated in the program committees and
organizing committees of renowned international
conferences such as NeurIPS, AAAI, AISTATS, ACM
Multimedia, BMVC, IEEE CEC, GECCO, and more. He
currently serves as an ACM Distinguished Speaker.
He received the 2012 Young Engineer Award from the
Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and
the 2015 Thomson Reuters Research Excellence India
Citation Award for being the highest-cited
researcher in Engineering and Computer Science in
India between 2010 and 2014.

Dr. Mihir Narayan Mohanty is presently working as
a Professor in the Department of Electronics and
Communication Engineering, Institute of Technical
Education and Research, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan
(Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar, Odisha,
India. He has received his M.Tech. Degree in
Communication System Engineering from the
Sambalpur University, Sambalpur, Odisha and done
his Ph.D. work in Applied Signal Processing. He
has published over 440 papers in
International/National Journals and Conferences
along with approximately 27 years of teaching
experience. He is the active member of many
professional societies like IEEE Senior Member,
IET, EMC & EMI Engineers India, ISCA, ACEEE,
IAEng, CSI and also Fellow of IETE and IE (I). His
area of research interests includes Machine
Learning, Deep Learning, Applied Signal, Data
Analysis using Expert Systems, Image Processing,
and Biomedical Signal Processing
